- Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until evenly crisp, approximately 4 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then crumble into small pieces once cooled.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar. Stir until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of each breast, covering the surface completely.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the coated chicken, then distribute the crumbled bacon evenly across the top.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the cheese is bubbling and golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Garnish with chopped chives or green onions if desired, then serve immediately.
